Life Update: Day in My Life, Summer Plans, Moving To LA in Life, Thoughts on 06/06/19Drinks at the Mandarin Oriental rooftop in Munich Helloooo beautiful people! It me, back from my Euro vacay. Which, speaking of, I got not one but TWO travel diaries coming to the blog asap (one will feature our stay in Rome/cruising around the Amalfi Coast and the other will talk all things Munich). Life has been so crazy the last month and I can finally say that I am settling into my new routine. Which… is definitely gonna be a kinda strange phase of life haha. But then again, my last year in general has been filled with so many unexpected changes and totally kept me on my toes, so I’ve really learned to just go with the flow and embrace whatever my “now” is looking like. I am going to be pursuing my masters at the University of Southern California in the fall and I just left my full time job at Accenture just over three weeks ago to enjoy a footloose and fancy free summer. I had been on a work from home project since November, and truth be told, I didn’t have a toooon to do… So, leaving my job hasn’t felt like that much of a transition just because I was already accustomed to chilling around the house and not having anywhere to be. What is very different now is that my sister Kate has graduated from college and is home for the summer! This is the first time in… idk maybe 6 years, where we’ve had longer than a 3 week stretch to hang out. Once I graduated high school and left for college, we were always living in different places, and Kate has always spent the majority of her summers at camp in Northern Ontario or in Toronto. We will both be moving to LA and living together come this fall, which is going to be a once in a lifetime experience for sure haha. I never thought we would have a chance to be roommates! We are very twin like but with totally different energies. We have the exact same taste in music, food, movies, tv shows, and activities, so it’s just going to be a really fun time. Sure, we will have our fair share of screaming sister fights, but also lots of singing, reality tv marathons, ridiculous inside jokes, and literally all the adventures. I could not be more excited. I will be heavily documenting my move to LA, including apartment hunting, decorating, my first few days, etc, on my YouTube channel, so stay tuned for that and make sure to subscribe to my channel! Additionally, my dad is on a work sabbatical, so literally my entire family is home and living in the house… Which has not been a thing since I graduated from high school. Life is SO weird man. If you told me a year ago that I would find myself living back at home in the suburbs with the entire family… Just wild. It’s been a little crazy, but since Kate and I have been on the same page with our routines and trying to get out of the house, it’s slowly but surely becoming my new normal. I’ve had a few people ask me if I’m worried about getting bored, and my answer is um I really hope not!! hahaha. So far, Kate and I will eat breakfast and do a workout together, shower and get ready for the day, and then move on to some sort of activity together. We got dinner and went to the movies the other day, we saw Ariana Grande in concert last night (check out our extra AF fits below lol), and right now we are grabbing lunch and doing some work at this cute coffee shop in Evanston. Kate is in the midst of job hunting and I have a ton of emails to catch up on after Europe, along with getting back into my normal posting routine! (Still doesn’t feel real that I’m technically a “full time blogger” now). We also are rewatching season 3 of Bachelor in Paradise so yeah, you could say that is a huge priority in my life right now. Funemployment is treating me WELL my friends. This will without a doubt be the last time in my life where I truly have no responsibilities, bills, shit to do, and I am just trying to soak it all up and stay in the now. In addition to being in Chicago, I definitely will be spending time in Toronto and up at my cottage in Muskoka this summer! My family has already planned a couple trips in the next couple weeks; I’m just trying to get a better idea of any trips I want to take with my bf before I commit to my schedule. Gotta make the most of all the time we have before, ya know, I move across the country (yeet). A few people have asked me, and yep, we are gonna do long distance, so if that’s something you want me to talk more about def let me know. Fun fact, it will be my third time doing long distance because I hate myself and love to suffer? Lol kidding. The situation feels vastly different than previous ones, and it just feels like the right decision for us both. But for real, Chicago to LA is no joke, and I’m not naive that it won’t come with its set of challenges, but the romantic in me will always believe that true love is worth fighting for. And that is the one and only mushy sentence I’m gonna say in this post, promise. Ciao for now!
